On Kaufland, a parcel only counts as shipped once you say so. Without the shipping confirmation Kaufland cannot release your revenue, and the confirmation also feeds your delivery metrics and keeps Kaufland from cancelling the order. For a seller who ships across borders, shipping also means choosing carriers per country, setting realistic transport times and knowing which of Kaufland’s services work from where you are.
Below is how it works as of 30 September 2026, according to Kaufland’s Seller University and Seller API documentation.
Confirming a shipment
In the Seller Portal, go to “Manage orders” and choose “Mark unit sent” for each order unit. You enter the carrier and the tracking number. The same works through the Seller API or connected software; the API accepts the carrier codes from Kaufland’s published list.
Kaufland works in order units, not parcels. If an order has three items in two parcels, you confirm each unit with the right tracking number. An order can carry several tracking numbers, so the buyer also sees partial deliveries. If you save more than one tracking number for the same unit, Kaufland uses the latest.
When you include a carrier and tracking number, Kaufland emails the buyer a tracking link. Mark units as shipped only when they have actually left.
No confirmation, no payout
Kaufland states that without a shipping confirmation your revenue cannot be released. Kaufland releases your revenue 14 days after delivery (with a tracking number) or 21 days after the order is marked as shipped (without one). An open ticket pauses the period. The payout date calculator works out the date for a single order.
14 plus 7 days: when Kaufland cancels
If an order unit has not been marked as shipped 14 days after the latest delivery date and no ticket has been opened for the order, Kaufland notifies you. If the status does not change within seven days, Kaufland cancels the order unit on your behalf. It counts as a seller-related cancellation, and from a monthly rate of 1% Kaufland charges a fee on cancelled transactions.
Delivery time: processing plus transport
The delivery time the buyer sees has two parts:
- processing time: how long you need until the parcel is with the carrier, set on the offer;
- transport time: how long the carrier takes, set in the shipping group for each destination.
Kaufland counts working days only. Saturday is not a working day, and public holidays are excluded too. Take an offer with one day of processing and a transport time of three days to Austria: an order placed on Monday should leave on Tuesday and arrive by Friday.
Under “Time for same-day shipping” you set the time by which an order must come in to reach the carrier the same day. Delivery time also plays a part in the Buy Box: according to Kaufland, if two offers have the same minimum price, the one with the fastest delivery wins.
Shipping groups for several countries
Shipping groups live under Settings, Shipping settings. You need at least one before you can create an offer, and the name in your offer file must match the group’s name exactly.
- Uniform shipping groups can be used across sales channels. You enter shipping costs in your preferred currency, and Kaufland converts them into each marketplace’s currency. If you add a new sales channel whose region is already in a uniform group, the group applies there automatically.
- Channel-specific groups cover one country only. Kaufland is moving all accounts to a new design by the end of 2026; after the migration, only uniform groups can be newly created, and existing channel-specific groups are converted.
- Removed fields. The new design drops “Additional costs per additional item” and “Maximum shipping costs per order”. If you rely on a surcharge per extra item, Kaufland warns that it disappears without replacement at migration, so adjust your base shipping price in time.
- Shipping costs are charged once per order. Above €5.00 for a parcel group, the Seller Portal shows a notice; that is a recommendation, not a limit.
Carriers for parcel lockers and pick-up points
You can offer delivery to parcel lockers and pick-up points (“out-of-home”, OOH), with a separate, usually lower, price in the new design. Kaufland lists these carriers per marketplace:
| Carrier | Marketplaces for OOH delivery |
|---|---|
| DHL | DE, AT, CZ, SK, PL, FR, IT, NL and ES |
| GLS | DE, AT, CZ, SK, PL, FR, IT, NL and ES |
| DPD | DE, AT, CZ, SK, PL, FR, IT, NL and ES |
| Packeta | Kaufland.cz and Kaufland.sk |
| InPost | Kaufland.pl |
| Czech Post | Kaufland.cz |
One restriction matters if you ship from outside Germany: DHL cannot deliver parcels from other EU countries to German parcel lockers and shops. For OOH delivery into Germany from another EU country, choose a different supported carrier. Delivery to a street address is not affected.
Size limits apply. Kaufland gives 75 × 60 × 40 cm and 31.5 kg for a DHL Packstation, and 45 × 36 × 61 cm and 5 kg for Packeta Z-BOXes. Sort your offers into shipping groups by parcel size so buyers only see pick-up options that fit.
Shipping labels through Kaufland (KSS)
Kaufland resells shipping labels under the name Kaufland Shipment Solutions (KSS). As of 30 September 2026:
- GLS is the only carrier;
- shipments go from Germany to Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and Czechia;
- for pick-up, your warehouse must be in Germany; for drop-off, the parcel goes to a GLS drop-off point in Germany;
- standard parcels up to 120 × 80 × 60 cm and 40 kg; no hazardous goods and no freight;
- you sign up through a support ticket or your Kaufland contact.
Buying a label does not mark the order as shipped. You still confirm the shipment, with the label’s tracking number. If your stock is outside Germany, KSS is not an option today: buy labels from your own carrier and enter the tracking number with Kaufland.
A daily routine
- Before your cut-off time: pack every open order due today.
- Create labels and keep the tracking numbers.
- The same day, mark every unit as shipped, with carrier and tracking number.
- Once a week: check orders without a shipping confirmation, so none gets near the 14 days after the latest delivery date.
- Once a month: compare transport times per destination with what your carrier actually delivers, and adjust.
How Sellgrip helps
Orders in Sellgrip lists every Kaufland order across your countries with its status and shipping deadline. You mark items as shipped one by one or in bulk, on every plan, and each action goes straight to Kaufland through the Seller API. If you ship from Germany, Shipping labels buys a GLS label through KSS from the order, on Pro and Business, and only after you tick the box. Delivery performance counts late shipments, cancellations and tracking numbers per period and country.
