What the country check answers
Country by country
One switch per country, with how many of your products are worth it there. Find eleven worthwhile items in France, and you have one decision to make.
Worked out with your costs
Sellgrip uses your purchase price, the category’s commission in the target country and the shipping you entered for it, with no flat mark-up.
And what to check first
Under “Check first”: packaging registration, EPR in France, Italy and Spain, the €10,000 threshold for distance sales and whether title, description and safety instructions exist in the country’s language. The number of offers there stands next to the margin.
Shipping, entered once
For each country you enter “Your cost per unit” and “What the buyer pays”, right on the page. Without your cost, the margin there stays blank.
How the answer is built
-
Sellgrip takes your range
The items you list today, with the purchase price you have on file. Only countries where you sell nothing yet are checked. A missing purchase price can be entered right on the row.
-
And asks Kaufland per country
Does the product exist there, at what price, and who already offers it. One snapshot a day, shared with the competitor radar so the same query never runs twice.
-
Then it works backwards
From the price in the target country Sellgrip subtracts commission, fee and your shipping. What is left is the margin per unit, and if it pays off, you list the product there with “List now”.
What Sellgrip does not guess
The country check works out what one sold unit earns. It does not forecast how many you will sell, because a forecast for a country you have never sold in would be guesswork.
If shipping to a country is not on file, the margin for that country is left blank. Sellgrip does not substitute your domestic shipping, because shipping is the cost that most often eats up a good margin.
- Koruna and złoty at the ECB rate
- For Czechia and Poland, Sellgrip converts your euro costs at the ECB reference rate. If the latest rate is older than 14 days, the margin for that country is left blank.
- Commission on the first run
- For a country you do not sell in yet, the category commission may be missing on the first pass. The row then says the commission is unknown and shows no margin.
What you see in Sellgrip
- Countries with a number
- A switch per country with how many of your products are “Worth it” there. At the top: “Worth it” and “Checked”, out of all product and country combinations.
- Products per country
- Per country: “Buy Box”, “Offers”, “Margin” per unit with its percentage and “Break-even”. Rows that pay off show “List now”. Where a figure is missing, the row says why.
- Set a threshold
- “Minimum margin per unit”: the margin above which a product counts for you.
- Obligations alongside
- Under “Check first” per country: packaging registration, EPR where it applies, the distance selling threshold and the language of your listing.
Questions about Country check
Does Sellgrip say how much I will sell there?
No, Sellgrip works out what one sold unit earns. A sales forecast for a new country would be guesswork.
How does Sellgrip calculate in Czechia and Poland?
Prices there are in koruna and złoty, and Sellgrip converts your euro costs at the ECB reference rate, at most 14 days old. Without such a rate the margin is left blank and you only see the Buy Box.
Do I have to enter shipping per country myself?
Yes, once per country, on the page itself: your cost per unit and what the buyer pays. An estimated shipping cost would distort the calculation more than any other figure.
Can I list a product in the new country right away?
Yes, with “List now” on the row. Sellgrip suggests a price just below the Buy Box, in the country’s currency, and only lists below your break-even if you confirm.
How often is this updated?
Once a day, together with the competitor radar. New products come first. A price found is checked again after a week, a product not found there after a month.
Which plan includes the country check?
The country check is part of Business, and of the 14-day Business trial.
