Protect
When a price slips below your break-even.
At every sync, the price guard compares the price buyers pay right now with your break-even. If it is lower, the item shows up in Alerts with the loss per unit.
Try Pro or Business free for 14 days, then pay monthly or yearly for the plan you chose, plus VAT, unless you cancel first.
What the price guard checks
The price buyers pay
Sellgrip uses the offer’s current price, not the one you once set. If Smart Pricing has moved it, the new price counts.
Your break-even
Purchase price, shipping cost, commission, fixed fee and VAT give the price from which you make money. It is the same sum as for the Buy Box.
The loss per unit
The case shows price, break-even and roughly how much you lose on each unit sold. The monthly total is in the profit and loss.
“At least” when discounts are running
With vouchers or discounts, the break-even can be higher. Then the break-even says “at least”.
Only on solid ground
Without a VAT rate from a sale, or with several offers on the same EAN, the price guard stays silent. It only checks active offers.
Prevent it next time
A minimum price from your break-even stops Smart Pricing at that line. Pricing rules never go below it either.
How the price guard works
-
Enter your costs
Upload purchase prices and shipping costs under Settings. Sellgrip gets the commission from Kaufland.
-
Sellgrip checks at every sync
Every active offer is compared with its break-even. If the price is below it, a case opens as a warning.
-
You decide
Raise the price or check your costs. If you are clearing stock on purpose, mark the case as done.
Why prices slip below the line unnoticed
A price that made a profit when you set it can cost money later. Smart Pricing, a price edit or a higher purchase price is enough.
In the monthly profit and loss you only see it afterwards. The price guard tells you while you can still change the price.
- Commission per category
- Kaufland charges commission as a percentage set by category, plus €0.70 per item for media. Both go into the break-even, with every rate under Kaufland fees.
- Vouchers cost extra
- For each redeemed voucher, Kaufland charges €0.49 on products under €100, otherwise €0.99. That is why discounts can push the break-even up.

Where you see the price guard
- Alerts
- Each case is titled with the item name followed by “price below break-even”, and shows as a warning in Alerts.
- Buy Box
- On the Buy Box page, a link counts these cases, such as “3 open cases in Alerts”.
- No amount in the total
- The case does not count towards the open total in Alerts, because the loss only happens with each sale. You read the amount per unit in the case itself.
- Close or snooze
- “Mark as done” closes a case, “Got it” marks it as seen and “Snooze 24 h” puts it away for a day. Use it when you clear stock on purpose.
Questions about Price guard
Which plan includes the price guard?
Business. On Free and Pro, Alerts shows how many cases Sellgrip found.
Why does the price guard not flag an item?
Usually something is missing: purchase price, shipping cost, commission rate, or a sale that tells Sellgrip the VAT rate. Several offers on the same EAN also stop the check.
Why does the break-even say “at least”?
Because vouchers or discounts are running, and Kaufland only charges their fee with the monthly statement. The real break-even is then likely higher.
Is the price guard a repricer?
No. It only alerts you. You change the price yourself under Products, or let Pricing rules propose one within your limits.
How often does the price guard check?
At every sync with Kaufland, together with all other alerts.
