What the assistant can read

Today’s tasks

Up to five open cases with deadline and amount. Plus the money at stake and how many cases are open in total.

Profit for a period

The P&L for today, yesterday, the last 7, 30 or 90 days, a month or days you choose: sales, fees, advertising, net profit and profit after fixed costs.

Orders

Orders with status, country, amount, shipping and tracking number, filtered and sorted. Without buyer names or addresses.

Buy Box and price history

Your Buy Box share per country and the status per product with your price, the Buy Box price and the break-even. Plus the price history of the last 30, 60 or 90 days.

Opportunities

Your opportunities, largest first, with the estimated amount per month.

Customers

The totals of the Customers page: buyers, orders, share of repeat buyers and the top products.

How to connect your assistant

Create a key

Under Settings › API keys, as the owner, create a key with the permission “Read (AI assistants)”. Sellgrip shows it once.
Enter the address

In the assistant, enter the address https://sellgrip.com/api/v1/mcp and the key as a bearer token in the Authorization header.
Ask

Ask in your own words, for example “What do I have to do today?” or “Where did I lose the Buy Box?”. The assistant fetches the figures from Sellgrip.

Setting it up in Claude Code and Claude Desktop

Claude Code connects directly over HTTP. Claude Desktop uses the small program mcp-remote for this, which npx loads on first start. Replace sgk_… with your key.

Other assistants work too if they speak MCP over Streamable HTTP and can send their own Authorization header. The connector pages of claude.ai and ChatGPT expect a sign-in with OAuth, which Sellgrip does not offer at the moment.

Limits: 60 requests per minute per key, 120 per shop.
History: The key shows which tool was used when. Sellgrip does not store questions or answers there.

What the access may do and what not

Read only: No tool changes prices, orders or settings, and none writes to Kaufland.
Its own key: A read key cannot write, and a key for stock or product data cannot read through MCP. Revoking a key takes effect at once.
Only your shop: The key belongs to your account. No tool accepts another seller’s ID.
No buyer data: No buyer names, addresses, email addresses or phone numbers. Customers only appear as totals.

Questions about AI assistants

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that AI assistants use to read data from other programs. Sellgrip offers an access for it that only reads.

Can the assistant change prices or orders?

No. Every tool only reads. You still change prices, orders and settings in the dashboard.

Which assistants work?

Claude Desktop, Claude Code and any other MCP client that accepts an address with its own Authorization header. The connector pages of claude.ai and ChatGPT require OAuth and do not work at the moment.

Does the assistant see my buyers?

No. Sellgrip does not give out buyer names, addresses, email addresses or phone numbers. Customers only come as totals.

Who sees my figures?

Your assistant and its provider, as with anything you give it. Sellgrip only notes on the key when which tool was used.

Which plan includes it?

Business, like the Sellgrip API. You end the access at any time by revoking the key under Settings › API keys.
