How the calculator works

Just addition, with your numbers.

  • Cost per return: shipping to the buyer, return shipping, checking and repacking, write-off and commission, minus what the buyer pays.
  • Write-off: purchase price times the share you cannot sell again.
  • The profit calculator already counts shipping to the buyer as a loss. So there you enter the amount without outbound shipping.

Common questions

Why does shipping to the buyer count?

Because the parcel was already sent. The postage is paid, even when the item comes back.

Does Kaufland refund commission on a return?

Kaufland’s conditions page does not say. Check your statement and enter what Kaufland keeps.

What does the return rate have to do with it?

Cost per return times the return rate is what returns cost each sale on average. The profit calculator works that out under More costs.
