What the commission check compares

Expected

The rate Kaufland gives for the EAN and country, applied to the selling price plus shipping, and the fixed fee once per item.

Charged

The commission in the Kaufland settlement for the same order. If you have said that Kaufland’s fees include VAT, Sellgrip takes it out first.

Only real differences

Differences of up to 25 cents per order count as rounding. Only above that does Sellgrip show a difference.

Only complete orders

If one line has no rate, Sellgrip does not check the whole order. That way a gap in the data never turns into a false claim.

Every settlement

The check runs over every settlement line Sellgrip holds, not just 30 days. The biggest difference is at the top.

A text for Kaufland

For the orders with a difference, Sellgrip writes the ticket text: both amounts and a request to correct the settlement. You copy it with one click.

How the check works

  1. Sellgrip fetches the rates

For every EAN in your catalogue and every country, Sellgrip gets the commission rate through the Kaufland Seller API. Kaufland itself calls it an estimate.

  2. Sellgrip compares

For each order, expected and charged commission sit side by side. You also see how many orders were checked.

  3. You write to Kaufland

With Business, order number, both amounts and the difference sit in a table. You copy the text for the ticket with one click.

Why checking pays off

Commission depends on category, price and shipping, and the settlement only shows the result. You cannot tell from it whether it is right.

By hand, you would compare every order with the table under Kaufland fees. Sellgrip does that at every sync, for every settled order.

The rates themselves are in the commission by category lookup and on Kaufland fees, free and with sources.

Rates from 7 to 16%
That is the commission range by category in every Kaufland country except Poland, where it is 4 to 12%. Media items add €0.70 each, 18 Kč in Czechia and 3 zł in Poland.
VAT on commission
Kaufland charges VAT on its commission. As a VAT-registered seller, you reclaim it as input tax.

Where you see the check

At the bottom of Payouts
The “Commission check” block says “All commissions are correct.” or names the number of orders on which too much was charged. Next to it is the number of orders checked.
The table
The columns “Order”, “Expected”, “Charged” and “Overcharge”, sorted by the biggest difference. The table comes with Business. Each order number opens that order.
Ticket to Kaufland
A ready-made message with one paragraph per order, both amounts and a request to correct it. It is written in your dashboard language when Kaufland’s support works in it (German, English, Czech, Slovak or Polish), otherwise in English. You paste it into a ticket in the Seller Portal.
Kaufland’s share
On Pro and Business, the profit and loss shows what share of your revenue went to Kaufland each month. That is a second look at the same fees.

Questions about Commission check

What do I see without Business?

On how many orders too much commission was charged, and the total. The individual orders and the text for Kaufland come with Business.

What does a difference mean?

For a start, only that the settlement differs from what Sellgrip expected. Kaufland itself calls the rate from the API an estimate. So check the case with Kaufland before you claim anything back.

Why are some orders not checked?

Sellgrip only checks settled orders where every line has a rate. The number checked is shown next to the result.

Does VAT on commission count?

Kaufland publishes its rates net. If you have entered gross amounts in the settings, Sellgrip takes the VAT out before comparing.

How does the fixed media fee count?

Once per item, even when the settlement has several lines for that item.
